Doctoral Research Assistant, Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity

Desiree Tupas is a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) student in Global Health Department at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health and a Doctoral Research Assistant at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity. Her work focuses on health workforce diversity, state-level training investments, and the economic evaluation of workforce equity initiatives.

At the Mullan Institute, Desiree contributes to the Diversity Tracker and national monitoring projects, conducting longitudinal analyses of workforce training and enrollment trends across health professions. Her research integrates health economics and policy analysis to examine how states translate diversity-focused investments into measurable representation gains. She is particularly interested in developing benchmarking frameworks that inform evidence-based workforce policy.
