Maya Wedlow, MPH
2024-2025
Maya is passionate about health equity, social justice, and community-engaged efforts which strengthen relationships with populations that have been historically excluded. Her background in community health has led her to coordinate and manage projects and programs working to address social determinants of health needs to bridge gaps between academia, healthcare institutions, and their local communities.
Maya is a double alumnus from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience and a Master of Public Health concentrated in Public Health Administration and Policy. Upon graduation, Maya was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, representative of her unwavering dedication to learning. She has engaged in unique programming and activities to challenge the status quo, such as participating in a Hair Care Work Group which introduced culturally appropriate hair care products and educational materials into a healthcare system to improve hygienic experiences for Black / African American patients.
